WCG Ultimate Gamer Season 2

You can meet the contestants from season 1 and find out more information about season 2 of the hit reality series at the WCG Ultimate Gamer booth of the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show With all the glowing feedback from the gaming community and great ratings, WCG was given the greenlight to produce the second season of WCG Ultimate Gamer. What will season 2 bring is anybody's guess as the production meetings have just begun, but everyone here at WCG are looking forward to another great season and we hope that you will join us. Just to catch up some of you who may not know what WCG Ultimate Gamer is, here is a brief description. WCG Ultimate Gamer is an exciting 8-episode elimination-style reality series that aired in March and April 2009 on the Sci Fi Channel. The 12 contestants shared a loft in downtown Los Angeles & they were tested in real-life challenges inspired by best-selling game titles, competing in the video games themselves, avoiding elimination in head-to-head battles in an arena filled with hundreds of spectators, reaching for a prize package $100,000 and the ultimate Samsung electronics package. As the first reality show to predominantly feature video games, with a successful season under its belt, we have started planning the second season with plans to incorporate many of the great feedbacks from the community to make it even more spectacular and fun to watch! For those who want to join the cast of the WCG Ultimate Gamer season 2, the casting sessions will begin around March of 2010. The show producers will be looking for the best all around gamers from not only from the states, but from Europe and Asia as well for global contestants' pool. We will be sure to post more information about the casting sessions on WCG.com so be sure to watch the news section. Season 2 will begin airing in August of 2010 and end with a grand finale at the stage of WCG 2010 Grand Finals in Los Angeles. Are you excited? We sure are! [WCG 2009] PAKISTAN vs. INDIA: Epic Battles between Arch Rivals

For the first time in the history of World Cyber Games Pakistan & India the arch rivals of all sports come together face to face. The group draws for WCG Grand Final reveals that India & Pakistan are sharing the same pool for both Counter- Strike & FIFA. This is definitely going to add up some serious heat to this tournament as the gamers from both the countries would be having an eagle eye on group matches, especially India vs. Pakistan. In the race to qualify for the Single-Elimination, it’s going to be an epic battle as both teams have fair chance in their groups to make it to the top 2. According to the gaming community of Pakistan this is going to make up for the whole tournament for Pakistan. As we know that Pakistan hasn't dazzled in past WCGs' not even in the Single Group League. We saw some resistance last year when FIFA player Mean Machines | Smooth Criminal & WC III player Stud won some amazing matches in Group League. In India this is going to be as big as WCG Ultimate Final. India has got some talent too, especially in FIFA. Everyone is hoping to see the best of gaming in these 2 fixtures of Pakistan vs. India. I will be participating in the ExtraLife challenge to help fund the pediatric cancer research program at the Texas Children's Hospital. The challenge is to play games for 24 hours from October 17th 8am to October 18th 8am. Gamers can gather sponsors who will donate $1 for every hour they played games during the challenge period. Notice for Gamers: WCG 2009 Grand Final Group Drawing Rules Date: Oct. 14th ~ 16th , 2009 3:00 PM (GMT+9) Location: World Cyber Games Inc. Conference Room, Seoul, Korea Announcement of participants' list and their initial seeding: Oct. 13th Game titles that will be presented during the event : 11 titles • Asphalt 4: Elite Racing / Carom 3D / Counter-Strike / FIFA 09 / Guitar Hero: World Tour / StarCraft: Brood War / Trackmania Nations Forever / Virtua Figher 5 / Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne / Wise Star 2 / Dungeon & Fighter • There will be no group drawing for Red Stone. ? Management: WCG Committee • Everyone can watch the results of the group drawing in real-time at the WCG official website. (http://www.wcg.com/) General Regulation • WCG committee will select 2~8 competitive players (team) per game, based on their reputations and previous records, will be given a special seeding. Mean Machines won WCG09 Pakistan FIFA Finals

Excitement roused when three players of Team Mean Machines reached the Semi-Finals of WCG 2009 Pakistan FIFA09 competition; Mean Machines F.J., Sheva & Stony. It was a little unfortunate for Mean Machines | Smooth Criminal defending Champion of last year’s WCG National Final FIFA08 to lose in Quarter Final, but he played extra ordinary matches against tough opponents & made it a long way again. The draws for both the semi-finals were: Match 1: Mean Machines | Sheva vs Mean Machines |Stony Match 2: Mean Machines | F.J. vs Magsi At that time I felt a relief of sigh as well a wave of excitement & joy took over me. It wasn’t confirmed that Mean Machines is going to be the WCG 09 Pakistan FIFA champion but we had number of shots at the title. In first match, Mean Machines | Stony lost to Mean Machines | Sheva & in second match Magsi lost to Mean Machines | F.J. Sheva & F.J. made their way into the finals. The final started off with much anticipation. Mean Machines | Sheva outclassed Mean Machines | F.J. in the first match winning it by 6-1. The second match kept us involved as F.J. made a huge comeback & gave a tough fight to Sheva. But unfortunately his brilliant effort didn’t provide him the chance for the title & he lost to Sheva 4-3. Mean Machines not only defended their WCG Pakistan FIFA champion title but this time they secured top three positions in WCG National Finals, a huge achievement. Mean Machines |Stony is the most senior & experienced player but unfortunately he couldn’t make it to finals. To be honest he is one of my favorite FIFA players ^^ After getting this extraordinary lead over other individuals/teams, Mean Machines has shown the consistency & proven that ‘Mean Machines is the Best’. I cannot describe the volume of my happiness at the moment but I am feeling out of this world .. LOL. Well done guys, I am so much proud of y’all. WCG 2009 National Finals will be held on 10th-12th of October 2009 in Lahore. Neomatrix is the official organizing partner for Wateen. The qualifiers will start from 4th of October and will last 3-4 days in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. This is because not everyone speaks your language. Tracks which flaunt the rules will be eliminated without further time spent playing the track. Tracks will be visible on the TMX for other participants to play and award / leave comments on. The judges from WCG might be interested in the comments and awards that you leave. Uploading 1. Name your track as directed in the rules 2. Login to TMX with the WCG Account (User: WCG09 Password: WCG09) 3. Upload your track including screenie if you wish. 4. Log off the account 5. Login to TMX as your own TMX ID 6. Locate the track on TMX 7. Post a link to it in the WCG Track Submissions thread. Note: The account has restricted access... (ie upload only). So you must be sure the track is your final version as you will not be able to update it once it is uploaded. Track Ownership The winning tracks will be free to use by World Cyber Games. The account you are uploading to has no delete rights, therefore only TMX can delete the tracks from the site. Deadline The contest closes on Sunday October 15th at 22:00 GMT. We will lock the sbmissions thread and block uploading to the WCG09 user as close to that time as we can.

At last a sigh of relief for the gamers of Pakistan. WCG09 Pakistan has been confirmed officially now. I honored to announce this good news. I talked to Adil Mir of WATEEN™ (WCG Organizer) and they confirmed the event officially. He said "The event is on & we are in finalizing stage. the final dates will be announced soon". On my further inquiry regarding the city & venue of finals, he replied "The venue isn't finalized yet but the finals will be in Lahore, Inshallah". Better get your gears ready.
